Duties included:

• Design of software tools and black box programs to be implemented into larger projects.
• Management of a MicroVAX II system.
• Provide all programming tools and utilities to Software Design department.
• Helped in the installation and initial work with the company's video graphics and animation department.
• Installation and management of a TOPS network between Apple Macs and IBM PCs.
• Work with the other various disciplines in the company to develop new features for the languages as well as other software utilities when needed.

Projects to date:

• The development of an Authoring Language for use in the creation of IVD programs.
  • The language consists of a P-Code compiler, a debugger, and a Hypercard-like run-time Executor. The language was developed for MS-DOS and then ported to the Apple IIGS ProDos environment. The same source and P-Code works in either environment. A graphics utility used to edit graphics screen, placing graphics made in a paint package at selected places on the screen and combining this with text and other computer controlled graphic shapes and figures. I designed a graphics librarian to hold these graphics for the authoring language to use.
• The development of a more efficient compression algorithm, that saved approximately 50% of the files normal space, to conserve disk space.
• The development of a graphics converter to convert and port Apple IIGS graphics to an IBM graphic format.
• The initial design requirements and orchestration of the development of an Apple IIGS-compatible video/graphics overlay board. This board allows the incorporation of NTSC video signal with analog RGB graphics to a single analog RGB monitor.
• A graphics conversion package to convert True Color Paint high-resolution graphics to formats usable on IBM EGA/VGA and Apple IIGS systems. Any TCP image can be used, including those genlocked from a camera, tape (any NTSC or RGB signal) or 3-dimensional animation screens.
